We’ve all heard the expression, “born with a silver spoon in his mouth.” Well, the joke around here is that Herb was born with a tool in his hand. The oldest of three brothers, Herb’s mom will tell you he was the “easy” one, and that while she was chasing around his younger brothers, Herb was outside building something. He hasn’t stopped.
A product of San Antonio, TX and Texas A&M University, Herb started Re:Creations in 1984 in Bryan, Texas. A year later he moved himself and his business to Dallas, TX, where Re:Creations has been headquartered ever since. Since that time, Re:Creations has redesigned and remodeled more than 600 homes and businesses all over the state of Texas. High-rises to houses, cottages to condos, Herb and his team are dedicated to re-creating your space exactly as you envision it. Herb personally oversees all phases of your project. He is a passionate advocate for finding the most eco-friendly solution to your problem and is determined to help reduce the damaging impact to the planet the construction business is unfortunately known for.
Not one to leave it at the office, you can find Herb most weekends working around his own home. It’s a bit complicated to explain but suffice it to say, it’s a home you will want to see. It began as two houses, involved a negotiation with the city, removing, restoring and replacing the original window glass, and a few international trips to find just the right materials. But it ended with the kitchen to beat all kitchens and a re-created space that shows Herb’s meticulous attention to detail in every corner.
Herb and his wife, Lolly, put that kitchen to good use regularly entertaining friends and neighbors with the products of Herb’s other passion, cooking. They share their home with their two black Labradors, Ruddy and Figlio.
